HIV+ Tumor Molecular Characterization Project: Lung Cancer

Program Description

The CGCI program included comprehensive characterization of the genetic aberrations found in different pediatric and/or adult tumors, including HIV-associated lung cancer. This project has been a joint effort between the Office of Cancer Genomics (OCG) (now CCG) and the Office of HIV and AIDS Malignancy (OHAM). Its goals were to characterize HIV-associated cancers (obtained from HIV-infected patients) and compare them to the same types of cancers from patients without HIV infection.

CGCI Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (CGCI-NHL)

Program Description

The CGCI program includes comprehensive characterization of the genetic aberrations found in different pediatric and/or adult tumors. The CGCI-NHL study characterized B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphomas including diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and follicular lymphoma (FL).

TARGET Neuroblastoma (NBL)

Program Description

The TARGET Neuroblastoma projects used comprehensive molecular characterization analyses to determine the genetic changes that drive the initiation and progression of high-risk cases (stage 4, the tumor has metastasized to many locations). In addition, we characterized a set of 4S cases who have metastasis, but usually not to the bone marrow and the disease clinically resolves.

TARGET Osteosarcoma (OS)

Program Description

The TARGET Osteosarcoma project used comprehensive molecular characterization to determine the genetic changes that drive the initiation and progression of high-risk or hard-to-treat childhood cancers.

TARGET Analysis Working Group (TAWG)

Program Description

GDC studies: TARGET-ALL-P1, TARGET-ALL-P2, TARGET-ALL-P3, TARGET-AML, TARGET-CCSK, TARGET-NBL, TARGET-OS, TARGET-RT, TARGET-WT

The TARGET Analysis Working Group (TAWG) uses comprehensive molecular characterization to determine the genetic changes that drive the initiation and progression of high-risk or hard-to-treat childhood cancers.

TARGET Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL)

Program Description

GDC studies: TARGET-ALL-P1, TARGET-ALL-P2, and TARGET-ALL-P3

The TARGET Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia projects uses comprehensive molecular characterization to determine the genetic changes that drive the initiation and progression of hard-to-treat childhood cancers. Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a cancer of white blood cells, the cells in the body that normally fight infection.
