Date: Monday, February 22, 2021 Time: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM (EST) Location: Web Conference (See WebEx information below) Speakers: Bill Wysocki, Ph.D, Director of User Services, University of Chicago Tara Lichtenberg, Ph.D, Clinical Data Expert, University of Chicago |
This webinar describes GDC resources for working with The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), a landmark cancer genomics program that characterized over 11K cases spanning 33 cancer types. Experts demonstrate how to access the many types, formats, and versions of data available and answer common questions about using TCGA data.
This webinar is intended for cancer researchers who are interested in learning more about TCGA data and resources available in the NCI Genomic Data Commons (GDC).
The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) is a landmark cancer genomics program that molecularly characterized over 11K cases spanning 33 cancer types. Available data includes: clinical, biospecimen, slide images, WGS/WXS/RNA/miRNA alignments, WXS somatic mutations, gene/isoform/miRNA expression quantification, copy number data, and methylation values. This webinar will provide an overview of TCGA data available in the GDC and demonstrate how to access the many types, formats, and versions of data available. In addition to demonstrating use of the GDC Data Portal and GDC Publication Pages, data experts will discuss Resources for TCGA Users such as such as clinical and other fields used in TCGA biotab files and address common questions about using TCGA data.
