Date: Monday, January 30, 2023 Time: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM (EST) Location: Web Conference (See WebEx information below) Speakers: Bill Wysocki, Ph.D, Director of User Services, University of Chicago |
This webinar is intended for cancer researchers who are interested in using the NCI Genomic Data Commons (GDC) to access data from cancer genomics studies. This webinar is also intended for data submitters and application developers who may benefit from a deeper understanding of the structure and content of the GDC Data Model and Data Dictionary, which are continually updated.
Understanding the structure and content of data at the GDC can help users access, submit, or analyze data at the GDC. The GDC uses a graph-based data model that maintains a relationship between a case, biospecimen, clinical, and submitted data files. Properties within the model are defined in the GDC Data Dictionary. This webinar will review the GDC Data Model and Data Dictionary, including recent structural updates supporting sample property standardization and new fields supporting key NCI programs such as The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and The Therapeutically Applicable Research to Generate Effective Treatments (TARGET).
