Introducing GDC 2.0: A New Cohort-Centric Design

Intended Audience

This webinar is designed for researchers interested in delving deeper into the genomic analysis capabilities of the recently launched NCI Genomic Data Commons (GDC) 2.0. It caters to those interested in analyzing and downloading cancer genomics data, regardless of prior genomics experience.

Abstract

GDC 2.0 is a major update to the original GDC Data Portal introduced in 2016. This latest version adopts a “cohort-centric” workflow, in which users build custom sets of cases to analyze, and introduces several new gene- and variant-level analysis tools. New features of the GDC 2.0 Data Portal include:

• The Cohort Builder tool for creating and editing cohorts using a range of case and data features
• Many new interactive gene- and variant-level data analysis tools that are accessed directly in the web browser
• A new Analysis Center acts as a central hub for accessing the tools available for analyzing a user’s cohort

Join us for a tour of GDC 2.0 and the new cohort-centric workflow. We will provide a live demonstration of the Cohort Builder and Analysis Center. A basic overview of the new analysis tools will be provided, with in-depth discussions of specific tools scheduled for subsequent webinars.
