Dr. Zhang is the Director of Bioinformatics in the Center for Translational Data Science (CTDS) at the University of Chicago. Before joining the GDC team, he received postdoctoral training in human genetics and cancer research from the University of Chicago. Dr. Zhang completed his M.S. in Statistics in 2007 and Ph.D. in Molecular Biology in 2008, both at the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to that, he received his B.S. in Biochemistry and M.S. in Genetics from Fudan University, China. His research interests include big data analytics, statistical modeling & method development, multi-omics data analysis, and machine-learning.
