Data Analysis Policies

All GDC Data

Users of any data provided by GDC, whether open or controlled access, agree not to attempt to reidentify any individual participant in any study represented by GDC data, for any purpose whatever. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of analytical techniques of reidentification on genomic or clinical data.

GDC Controlled Access Data

Additional restrictions on analysis, or publication or other distribution of analysis results, may be enumerated in the Data Use Agreement of individual GDC-supported projects. It is the responsibility of the investigator to know and understand Data Use Agreements they have signed, and to comply with any restrictions therein.

GDC Open Access Data

The GDC itself places no restrictions (other than attempts at reidentification) on analysis or publication of open access data provided through the GDC Data Portal.

Questions

GDC strongly encourages investigators to contact GDC support if there are any questions or concerns related to publication of their analyses.
