The NCI's Genomic Data Commons (GDC) officially launched Data Analysis, Visualization, and Exploration (DAVE) tools transforming the GDC from a cancer genomics data repository into an interactive knowledge base. DAVE enables cancer researchers to use the GDC’s high-quality, standardized genomic data without downloading a single file. Researchers can:
- Explore the GDC data by creating customizable patient cohorts
- Visualize most frequently mutated genes and genes affected by high impact mutations annotated in the Cancer Gene Census
- Perform survival analysis by affected genes
- View mutations mapped to protein-coding regions
- Download Mutation Annotation Files (MAFs) with additional annotations such as COSMIC
- Generate and export publication-ready figures
