The NCI GDC Analysis Tool Challenge aimed at enhancing cancer research by integrating innovative analysis tools with the GDC has completed. Two analysis tools were selected as winners: 1) GENOXA, by Scriptgene, and 2) GRIN, by St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
- GENOXA (by ScriptGene, LLC) - GENOXA is a bioinformatics tool which analyzes, integrates, compares, and visualizes bulk RNA-Seq and clinical data with an option to use machine learning (ML) algorithms to build predictive models using differentially expressed genes. Integration of clinical data and ML algorithms with differentially expressed genes will improve therapy recommendations for disease diagnostics and will expand personalized cancer treatments for patients.
- GRIN (by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital) - The genomic random interval method (GRIN2; PMID 36929085) empowers users to identify hotspots for complex patterns of genomic abnormalities and integrate these data with RNA/miRNA expression and clinical outcomes. GRIN2 is a proven tool that has successfully identified biological drivers in multiple pediatric and adult cancer genomics studies.
Congratulations to our winners!
