Data for New Projects Now Available in GDC Data Release 44

The GDC released Data Release 44 with data from new projects, new cases from existing projects, and more. Key highlights from this release include: 

  • New CCDI-MCI Project: Whole exome sequencing (WXS) and methylation data from the Childhood Cancer Data Initiative (CCDI) Molecular Characterization Initiative (MCI) (dbGaP phs002790)
  • New APOLLO-OV Project: Whole genome sequencing (WGS) and RNA-Seq data for ovarian cancer from the Applied Proteogenomics Organizational Learning and Outcomes (APOLLO) network (dbGaP phs003488)
  • New CPTAC-3 Cases: New cases of data from the Clinical Proteomic Tumor Analysis Consortium (CPTAC) including165 new cases of data for gastric cancer
  • New HCMI Cases: 168 new cases of data from from the Human Model Cancer Initiative (HCMI) including data from new human organoids 
  • RNA-Seq and miRNA Aliquots: Aliquots that were previously not released
  • Data Migration: Initial changes to migrate gender data to sex at birth, and the remainder of the tumor_purity/ploidy values
  • MuTect2 Fix: New Mutect2 data to resolve the issue with missing chromosomes 10 and 20 for some cases which will continue to be released in subsequent releases
