New Copy Number Segment Tool and API in the GDC

The GDC 2.5 Sanger Release includes release of a new copy number segment tool and API endpoint, and other enhancements. Primary features include:

  • Copy Number Segment Tool: Researchers can visualize copy number variation over a gene or region in the GDC Data Portal. For a complete list of features, refer to the Portal documentation. 
  • Copy Number Segment API: Allows users to search and retrieve data for segment-level copy number variations programmatically using the GDC copy number segment application programming interface (API) endpoint. Instructions for utilizing the Copy Number Segment API are available in the API documentation.
  • Other Clinical Attributes: Other clinical attributes such as body mass index (BMI), risk factors, and comorbidities are now available for query and analysis in the GDC Data Portal Cohort Builder and Clinical Data Analysis Tool

This release honors the legacy of Frederick Sanger, continuing the GDC tradition of celebrating pioneering scientists.
