This monthly support webinar helps all types of researchers utilize the cancer genomics data and resources available at NCI’s Genomic Data Commons (GDC). GDC experts will demonstrate how to find and access genomic data, how to use web-based tools, give in-depth explanations of bioinformatics pipelines, and more.
Intended Audience
This webinar is intended for cancer researchers who are interested in using the NCI Genomic Data Commons (GDC) and supporting tools to download data from cancer genomics studies.
Abstract
Raw sequence data, stored as BAM files, make up the bulk of data stored at the GDC. Most BAM files stored in the GDC are in the 50 MB - 40 GB size range, with some of the whole genome BAM files reaching sizes of 200-300 GB. The GDC Data Transfer Tool (DTT), a command-line driven application, provides an optimized method of transferring data to and from the GDC and enables resumption of interrupted transfers. This webinar will provide an overview of the DTT, demonstrate file download, and review the use of the DTT for data submission.
Included Topics
- Obtain an Overview of the GDC Data Transfer Tool (DTT)
- Review the GDC DTT Data Download Features
- Demonstrate File Download
- Review the GDC DTT Data Upload Features
